Well, what a busy month we’ve had. We had our annul lock-in at the church, which consisted of video games and pizza, and all the Scouts staying up ALL NIGHT LONG! Some of the Webelos II’s joined us, too. We also had one of our quarterly Court of Honors with 17 Scouts making rank or earning Merit Badges. We had three Scouts who earned their Life Rank: Lex Weekly, Mike Ifko, and Marc Easton. The next step for them is Eagle. Many of you may notice that some of the Webelo II’s are not in attendance at the Pack Meeting tonight. They are joining some of the Troop Scouts at Camp Pipsico for some cold weather camping and community service. Next week when you see them, see if they have thawed out yet! – Sherry Morrison |

This last month one of our Scouts, Mike Ifko, was presented with his God and Church Religious Emblem. Mike joined Pack 320 as a Tiger many years ago and is now a Star Scout in the Troop. He earned his Lutheran Religious Emblem from his youth minister at Apostles Lutheran Church on Johnstown Road . When the Webelos II's from last year crossed over into the Troop they named themselves the Scorpion Patrol. Mike stepped forward to the position as their Guide. He is a dedicated Scout and worked hard to earn his religious emblem. If you know Mike, or see him at one of the Troop meetings, please congratulate him on a job well done! The Troop will be holding their Court Of Honor on Tuesday, January 10th at 7:00 . The Court of Honor is similar to a Pack meeting. We would like to extend an invitation to anyone who would like to come out and visit us. The editor would like to apologize for neglecting to include the above photo of the Troop at Merit Badge Weekend! |

| This past month, the Scouts in the Troop have been very busy. We attended the Merit Badge Weekend that was being sponsored by Troop 158, at the Coast Guard Base in Elizabeth City, NC. Fourteen of the Scouts went, earning a total of 21 Merit Badges. We are also planning a five-mile hike and overnight campout next month. If you see Mark Easton, our “OLD” Den Chief, give him a hearty “Congratulations,” as he just made Life Rank and his next rank will be Eagle! | |||||||||||||

| Well,
what a busy summer the Troop has had! Unlike the Cubbies, the Troop continues
to have weekly meetings,
and summertime is full of camp adventures. In June, the Older Troop boys
went white water rafting on their
yearly trip to the James River. Then came summer camp time. One scout,
John Beckler attended Camp Pipsico. Ten others attended Camp Ottari: Sam
Webster, Lex Weekly, Clinton Collins, Mike Ifko, Max Weekly, Kevin
Craven, Kyle Dye, Brandon Owens, Jory Morrison, and Joseph Clarke. Marc
Easton attended the Jamboree, and
at our Court of Honor this week, he showed a slide show presentation of
his trip and talked about what he did and
learned. He had a fantastic time, and highly recommended it to the other
Scouts. The Troop also did community
service and camped out at the Civil War Days Reenactment Event on Cedar
Road. They were responsible for
taking ice water around to the different tents and making sure everyone
was well-hydrated. They also passed out
wooden nickels for kids to turn in and get a free bag of candy, and took
several turns helping out at the butter
stand, where they were responsible for cleaning out baby jars and filling
them with cream so kids could shake
them and make their own butter. This last weekend, nine of our Scouts went on a six-mile hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains. For many, this was a first time hike. The Scouts that attended said the view was beautiful, and many learned how to prepare and pack a backpack for the first time. A big THANK YOU to the adult leaders in the Troop that chaperoned the hike: Bill Owens, Jim Easton, Charlie Adamson, Bill Yannetti, and JJ Jarman. |

| Well
this month was a busy month for Troop 320. The Webelo II's had our "official"
Crossover Ceremony at the Blue and Gold at Triple R Ranch on May 7th. We
then went to Camp Baker for the traditional campout with the Troop. Camp
Baker is located off Centerville Turnpike and is a primitive camping area
with an outhouse for facilities. It was fun camping at a different place
and the boys were able to share tents with the other boys and a good time
was had by all. We were able to sit by the water and watch the waves stirred
up by passing boats. Joseph was able to rescue a fish that was flopping
on the shore by throwing it back into the water. Several boys enjoyed card
games in tents and our boys learned how to search a campsite for any trash
that may have been left.
Sam Webster has stepped
down as Senior Patrol Leader and Marc Easton was elected to replace him.
Many of you know Marc as the Pack's Den Chief. Troop 320's newest Patrol
is the Scorpions. Our Troop Librarian is John Bleckler and the Troop Scribe
is Earl Cross II. We have a new member his name is Willie Schattgen. He
joins us from Troop 55. Many of you probably saw him at our Blue and Gold
Crossover Ceremony. We all want to thank Erika Owens for doing such a
wonderful job planning our Crossover and taking care of all the small
details and the craft project. It was fun being able to decorate camp
buckets and have something we can use at our camp outs every month. |

| On
Tuesday the 12th, Troop 320 held their Court of Honor, which is equivalent
to the Cubs Pack Meeting. The following Scouts were honored. Mike Ifko made
Star Rank and earned his Citizenship Merit Badge. Matt Mattson earned his
Personal Management Merit Badge. Chris Collins earned his Personal Management
Merit Badge. Clinton Collins earned his Citizenship Merit Badge. The Troop
also held elections for leadership positions and the following boys will
hold positions for one year: Sam Webster - Senior Patrol Leader, Marc Easton
- Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Mike Ifko – Guide, Matt Mattson
– Instructor. Last month Den 5 elected their leaders and decided to
call their Patrol the Scorpions. These positions will be held for three
months and they can only be reelected once. Brandon Owens - Patrol Leader,
Jory Morrison - Assistant Patrol Leader. There are many more positions that
need leadership and they will be voted on in the weeks to come. Nine Scouts
from Pack 320 are moving over to Troop 320. I have the following Scouts
listed so far: John Bleckler, Joseph Clarke, Earl Cross II, Timothy Januchowski,
Jory Morrison, Brandon Owens, Kyle Reznak, Hunter Wallen and Colton Winger.
We also want to give a warm welcome to Willie Schattgen from Troop 55 who
also will be transferring. Several Scouts are joining Troop 901, which meets on Sundays out of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in the Great Bridge Section of Chesapeake. Those Scouts are Ben Boinay, AJ Glass and Ben O'Malley. One Scout crossed over to Troop 824, which meets on Mondays out of Prince of Peace Church on Cedar Rd. That Scout is Nathan Lenderman, who joined the Troop, which his brother Sam is already a member. There are a few Scouts who are still undecided and we look forward to hearing about them joining a Troop!! |

| For the last couple of months both Webelo II Dens have been visiting the Troop off and on. It is part of the Webelos Arrow of Light Requirement that they do this. They should visit once with a parent and once with their Den and feel free to check out other Troops in the area. Troop 320 meets at the same church as the pack but sometimes in the building at the back of the church. They meet on Tuesday nights from 7 until 8. After the meeting the boys all go outside to play a game. Since we have started attending their meetings, we have seen a Scout receiving his Eagle Award and also attended one of their meetings (equivalent to our pack meeting) which they have about every three months. They have also been working on their First Aid Badge. I encourage everyone to attend their meetings and get to know the Scouts in the Troop, as they will be instrumental in teaching all of our boys when they transfer over. | |||||||||||||
