Cheshire Forest Park - 612 Edgewood Arch

In the Late 1990’s as part of a conservation effort, Pack 320 adopted a community park in the Cheshire Forest neighborhood of Chesapeake. The Chesapeake Parks and Recreation Department has “contracted” with Pack 320 to clear the grounds of litter. We are required to clean up the park 4 times per year. Depending on the amount of workers, it usually takes about 1-1/2 hours. In appreciation for our efforts the city has placed an Adopt-A-Spot sign at the park entrance recognizing that Pack 320 has adopted this spot. As part of our contract we must clean up all trash and report in writing to the Parks and Recreation Department the types and weight of the refuse we collect. Generally our first clean up of the year in the spring will yield about 100 lbs of trash. After that the weight of trash drops off to about 30-40 lbs. Imagine what this park would look like if we had not adopted it.
