year we will be doing something different! We hope to have a "real"
Arrow of Light Ceremony for our Webelos IIs! Weather permitting we are looking
at an outdoor location with a bonfire for the ceremony. |

The
Arrow Of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting, and is the only badge
of Cub Scouting rank that may be worn on the Boy Scout uniform. |

To
earn the Arrow of Light badge, a Cub Scout must earn the Webelos badge plus
five additional Activity Badges from selected groups. The Webelos Scout
must additionally satisfy five other requirements designed to prepare the
boy for Boy Scouting. Webelos
Scouts that aspire to this achievement have worked very hard to get here. |

you know this service project not only helps the Arboretum (having helpful
volunteers) , your community (saves money and helps maintain the community's
property) and the environment (helps keep it clean and nice looking)
but it also helps YOU...this service project as well as other activities
you may do that day can be applied towards your requirements, electives
or other awards!!!!

kids need to bring gloves. The arboretum has 8-10 children's rakes. If
you have an extra rake please bring it.

celebrate Fall with us by participating in our annual fall cleanup at the
Chesapeake Arboretum...bring a brown bag lunch, drinks will be supplied
and have a wonderful time having a picnic after the cleanup. Bring gloves
if you need them. Rakes, wheel barrels, etc will be supplied by the Arboretum.
Join us after the cleanup for a nice walk thru the Arboretum's trails. |
